How the treatment works

Nail fungus is a common and stubborn condition, but laser technology provides an effective solution. At Húðfegrun, the treatment is performed with the latest Alma Lasers device, which targets the fungus with concentrated heat. The laser penetrates the nail and underlying skin, destroying the fungus without harming surrounding tissue. Over time, the infected nail is replaced by a healthy one.

Before treatment
For best results, nails should be groomed and thinned prior to treatment.

Number of treatments
Most clients require 4–6 sessions for complete removal. A minimum of 1 month should pass between treatments. For toenail fungus, 6–8 weeks between sessions is recommended due to slower nail growth.

After treatment
Mild soreness in the nail or toe may occur on the day of treatment. For proper healing, apply a healing lotion twice daily for one week. Avoid sun exposure and tanning beds for at least a week, and refrain from swimming for 1–2 days. To protect the treated area, use sunscreen with at least SPF 30 for a week following treatment.
